Lady Bobcats experience tough week on the court

Summerland's volleyball team advances to 14-6 on the season, after dropping four of five matches last week.

On Sept. 20, the Bobcats visited Crofton and lost three competitive sets, 20-25, 21-25 and 23-25.

Adyson Mlnarik led the squad with eight kills and eight assists.

Lydia Robertson nailed two solo blocks and added eight set assists.

Thursday, the Bobcats pushed Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family to five sets.

After losing the first two sets, 20-25, Summerland roared back and claimed the next two sets, 25-16 and 25-21.

In the race to 15 points, H/LHF held off the comeback kids, 16-14.

Three players finished in double digits in kills, including Hadley Cheatum, who recorded 18; Lydia Robertson, 14 and Mlnarik, 11.


Summerland competed in the Madison September Classic, on Sept. 24, finishing 1-2.

Against Wisner-Pilger, the Bobcats lost 1-2 and downed Laurel-Concord-Coleridge, 2-0. In the final match, Humphrey St. Francis defeated the Bobcats in two. Statistics from Saturday's tournament were unavailable.
