Justin M. Golter, 47, of Orchard appeared in the Antelope County courtroom Sept 7, for arraignment on charges related to his alleged flight from officers after an appearance in district court Aug. 31. If convicted of the current charges, three Class 1 misdemeanors, resisting arrest, obstructing officers and obstructing government operations, Golter faces fines of up to $1,000 on each count and/or up to one year incarceration on each, which may be ordered consecutive to each other. He asked for court-appointed counsel. Public defender Pat Carney, who represents him in the district court case, was appointed. Further arraignment is set Oct. 5.

The case remains under investigation. According to a probable-cause affidavit filed by Antelope County Sheriff Bob Moore, the vehicle Golter allegedly drove to the courthouse Aug. 31 was towed to the Antelope County Law Enforcement Center in Neligh following his apprehension, and an inventory of its contents was underway when drugs were allegedly located. According to the affidavit, the inventory process was halted to obtain a search warrant. He was remanded to Moore's custody, pending posting of $50,000, 10% cash bond, in addition to a $250,000, 10% bond issued in the district court case.

Kevin Carlson, 57, of Royal faced Taylor for arraignment on a count of driving under the influence of alcohol, alleged Aug. 17. Abler filed an amended complaint to correct the defendant named on the original complaint. Carlson pleaded not guilty and requested jury trial. Pretrial hearing is set Oct. 5, with a $1,500 personal recognizance bond continued. He is represented by Martin Klein of Neligh.

Adam M. Babl, 35, of Norfolk appeared for arraignment in two cases. In the first case he is charged with, Count I, no proof of financial responsibility, a Class 2 misdemeanor, and Count II, no registration, a Class 3 misdemeanor, both alleged June 18. If he is convicted, Babl faces potential penalties of up to $1,000 fine and/or up to six months in jail on Count I and up to $500 fine and/or 90 days in jail on Count II. In the second case, he is charged with DUI, +.15, a Class W misdemeanor, alleged July 8. Conviction would lead to a potential penalty of a $500 fine, seven to 60 days in jail and a one-year driver's license revocation. Babl requested court-appointed counsel. Taylor appointed Carney. Further arraignment is set Oct. 5. A $1,500 PR bond is continued.

Isaac W. Anderson, 37, of Brunswick appeared alongside Klein, his court-appointed attorney, for further arraignment on a Sex Offender Registry Act violation, a Class 3A felony. Anderson requested a preliminary hearing, which Taylor set for Oct. 5. Bond, in the amount of $5,000, 10%, posted July 8, is continued.

Denis F. Kerkman, 89, of Tilden faced Taylor for further arraignment on a Class 1 misdemeanor, violation of a protection order, alleged Aug. 9, in Neligh. Kerkman pleaded not guilty and requested jury trial. Pretrial conference is set Oct. 5. Kerkman was remanded back to Moore's custody, pending posting of bond in the amount of $5,000, 10%. He is represented by Klein.

Bobbi S. Jenkins, 37, of Plainview appeared, alongside Carney, for further arraignment on two counts alleged July 12, no proof of financial responsibility, a Class 2 misdemeanor, and traveling on a closed road, an infraction.

She pleaded not guilty to both counts and requested jury trial. Pretrial conference is set Oct. 5

Matthew J. Wright, 48, of Oakdale appeared, alongside Antelope County public defender Pat Carney of Norfolk, for further arraignment on three counts alleged July 2 in Oakdale, child abuse, a Class 3A felony, and two counts of first-degree assault, Class 1 misdemeanors, Carney told the judge he believed there would be resolution and asked for a continuance. Taylor set the case for a status hearing Oct. 5. Bond posted Aug. 7, in the amount of $10,000, 10%, with condition for no contact, directly nor indirectly, with his stepchildren and written permission from anyone he resides with, is continued as well.
