Candidates file for village offices

Nonincumbent deadline set for Aug. 1

 

Local General Election races will include new and familiar names this fall. The filing deadline for incumbents was July 15. Newcomers have until Aug. 1 to have their names added to the ballot.

Six individuals have filed for a seat on the Ewing Village Board.According to Village Clerk Sharon Swails, three positions are up for re-election. Incumbents Dustin Jorgensen, Kane Fry and William Graber met the filing deadline.

Newcomers who have tossed their hat into the race include Jeremy Tuttle, Kent Stallbaum and Katie Cunningham.


Cora Calkins, Page village clerk, said two seats are up for re-election.

Incumbents Terry Bartak and Mark Tyrrell have filed.

Kurtis J. Campbell and MaryJo Van Every Leichleiter added their names for consideration.

Holt County townships will also select leaders.

Three individuals have filed for the Deloit Township Board, including William Kaczor, David Ziems and Ernie Whiting.

Timothy Larson, Denis Bergstrom and Dean Schueth have filed for spots on the Ewing Township board.

In Golden Township, Debra Watson, Linda Montgomery and Teresa Walton have filed.

Three individuals have filed for the Iowa Township Board, including Brian Stevens, George Summers and Lynn Grass.

Jeff Mudloff and Barry Kelly have filed for Verdigris Township openings.

Antelope County Clerk Lisa Payne said incumbents have filed for re-election in Clearwater and Orchard village races.

Jeff Schlecht, who was sworn in as a Clearwater village trustee, July 13, will appear on the November ballot. He filled a vacancy following the resignation of Steve Stearns.

Three individuals have filed for Orchard village positions, including incumbents Dwight VanOstrand and Glen Cheatum. Tyson Schutt added his name to the list for consideration.
