Summerland Junior High golfers participated in the North Central meet, in Bassett, April 21, for their second golf meet of the year.

The meet consisted of 74 golfers from North Central, West Holt, Valentine, Boyd County, Elkhorn Valley and Summerland.

"Despite the wind that was blowing yet again, and the little warmer temperature, they all did an amazing job," said Coach Kris Tabbert.

Five students competed for Summerland, including Ayden Hartigan, Jenna Funk, Bennett Flenniken, Jacob Pierzina and Omar Martin.

"Summerland did come home with two medal winners," Tabbert said.

Flenniken finished with a 40, which earned him second place.

Pierzina finished with a 45, which tied for 10th place.

Hartigan finished the day with a 49, placing him 18th. Funk finished with a 49, finishing 19th. Martin shot a final score of 55 placing him 31st.

The team was set to compete at the Atkinson/Stuart Country Club, on April 25.
