Bobcat wrestlers earn medals in two classes at state tournament

Summerland wrestlers earned two medals at the 2022 Nebraska State Individual Wrestling Championships, held Feb. 17 - 19, at the CHI Center, in Omaha.

Seniors Logan Mueller and Colton Thiele closed their high school careers with trips to the medal round.

Wrestling in the 285 class, Mueller opened the meet with an 8-1 decision over Andrew Koehlmoos, of St. Mary's.

In the quarterfinal, Jordy Baland, of Doniphan-Trumbull, fought off the Bobcat powerhouse, earning a 4-2 decision.

The loss sent Mueller to the consolation bracket. He earned a 3-1 decision over Xander Albin, of Plainview and pinned As...
