Down by one point with a quarter remaining, Summerland boys’ basketball team pumped in 20 points to defeat Osmond, 54-44, Friday, in a home contest.

Three Bobcats finished in double figures. Keegan Smith led the team with a dozen points. Alec Schindler earned a double-double, scoring 10 points and pulling down 15 rebounds. Sam Cheatum contributed another 10 to the Bobcat effort.

The first quarter ended with Summerland holding a two-point lead, 18-16, and the Bobcats extended the spread to 28-21 at the break.

But the Tigers clawed their way back in the third quarter, limiting Summerland scorers to only connect for six points.

Summerland hit seven of 24 three-point attempts for 29%, but hit 40% from the two-point range.

Summerland made five of 12 free throws.

Ryan Schmit scored 24 for the Tigers.

The Bobcatswere schedule to host Elkhorn Valley, Tuesday and Wausa, Jan. 27.
