In its season opener, Summerland's wrestling squad won one and lost one at the Wayne triangular, Thursday.

Wayne defeated the Bobcats, 36-21, in the opening round. Summerland downed Wisner-Pilger, 45-24, in the second round. In the final round, Wayne took down W-P, 42-24.

Against Wayne, the Bobcats earned wins in four matches. Alex Thiele defeated Ty Zach, by fall, in 3:57. They competed in the 132-pound division.

At 152, Keaton Thiele picked up his first win of the season. He pinned Francisco Jinez De La Rosa, by fall, in 3:17.

Colton Thiele started his senior season with a 1-0 decision over Martin Carirllo.

Logan Mueller earned a quick pin over Logan Schafer. The Summerland senior pinned his opponent in :49.

Wayne grapplers earned wins in seven weight divisions.

Will Leseberg won, by forfeit, at 113.

Daley Bearinger was pinned, in 4:57, by Alex Frank, in the 120-pound division.

At 126, Connor Thomson dropped a 16-10 decision to Zachary McManigal.

Ashton Munsell pinned Willis Mast, in :41, in the 138-pound division.

In the 145-pound division, Logan Kester lost, by fall, to Eli Barner, in :42.

Kendrick Schroeder lost, by fall, in 4:25, to Aiden Liston, in the 170-pound class.

Alex Arroyo dropped an 11-5 decision to Dakota Spann, in the 182-pound class.

Double forfeits were recorded in the 106, 160 and 220 divisions.

Against W-P, Alex Thiele defeated Walker Ott in the 132-pound class, with a 5-2 decision.

At 182, Alex Arroyo pinned Kristian Oeverjordet, in 2:47.

Seven Bobcats earned wins by forfeit: Thompson, 126; Jesse Thiele, 138; Matt Umphress, 160; Schroeder, 170; C. Thiele, 195 and Mueller, 285.

The Gators earned wins in four classes.

Daley Bearinger lost, by pin, to Braxton Siebrandt, in :29, in the 120-pound class.

At 145, Devon Schultz pinned Logan Kester, in :31.

Keaton Thiele lost to Keegan Poppe, in 1:40, in the 152-pound class.

Tycin Lampman earned a win by forfeit in the 106-pound division.

Double forfeits were recorded in the 113 and 220 classes.
