Tabled • Improvements to both entrances of the Ewing Cemetery were put on hold Monday night during the village board meeting. Village Clerk Sharon Swails will get additional information on price quotes received and present the findings at the December meeting.

Three items of business related to the Ewing Cemetery were tabled Monday, during the village board meeting.

Trustees reviewed bids for paving of both driveway entrances, submitted by A & R Construction, of Plainview and Spalding Construction, Inc., of Spalding.

Chairman James Ramold said rock has been laid on the sections but heavy rains wash it away

"Can we swing it?" Trustee Dustin Wright asked.

Village Clerk Sharon Swails said after reviewing keno usage rules, she does not believe those funds can be used for the project.

"I wish we had a real rambunctious group that could do a fundraiser to help pay for it. I'm sure a lot of people would appreciate fixing the road out there," she said.

Ramold suggested tabling the paving project until spring.

Pillars at the entrances of the cemetery will be fixed prior to paving; however trustees agreed to table the project until a contractor is selected for the paving project.

Swails presented information about a computerized cemetery data program.

"With the system we have now, they also have a cemetery management module," she said.

The program includes a $1,900 implementation fee, which includes training on how to transfer prior data.

The annual cost will run $360.

The program does not include a mapping feature, which could be accessible for visitors to view at the cemetery.

Trustees said they would like to see a physical map or a computerized touch screen available.

Trustees tabled a decision, pending additional information.

In other business, trustees discussed adding more camper pads. The village will apply for grant funds to assist with the project. Keno funds may be applied to the project, also.
