Bobcats finishes second at Creighton Invite

The Lady Bobcat volleyball team sits at 4-9 on the season after winning two of seven sets during three days of competition last week.
The Bobcats broke in the new gymnasium Sept. 7, hosting a double triangular. The new school shine didn't cast a strong glow on the Bobcats, as they lost 2-1 to both Stuart and Elgin Public/Pope John.
On Sept. 9, the Cats traveled to Norfolk for a triangular.
Summerland pushed host Norfolk Catholic in both sets, but came up short, with 27-29 and 22-25 losses.
Adyson Mlnarik landed 10 kills, while Lydia Robertson marked a dozen set assists.
In the second match, the Bravettes from Battle Creek limited Cat hitters, taking wins of 25-14 and 25-12. Natalie Stallbaum, Emma Kerkman and Lydia Robertson each finished with two kills.
Emily Nordby landed two solo blocks.
The Bobcats picked up their first win of the week against Hartington-Newcastle, Saturday, during the Creighton tournament.
The Bobcats swept the match, with scores of 25-11 in both sets.
Next, Summerland defeated West Holt, 25-17 and 25-22, before facing Creighton. The Lady Bulldogs won in two sets, 25-20 and 25-15.
Statistics for Saturday's matches were not provided.
