In addition to occupational therapy services, Sheleene Charf, OTR/L, CLT of MSM Enterprises, also offers specialized lymphedema services at Antelope Memorial Hospital.
Lymphedema is the stagnation of lymph fluid in a portion of the body, usually the arms and legs.
"Lymphedema is associated with some type of malfunction of the lymphatic system, resulting in an obstruction of venous and lymphatic vessels or lymph nodes," said Charf. "Common causes of lymphedema are surgery, injury, venous insufficiency and cancer treatment."
