Orchard man accused in theft of tools

 


William D. Anson, 37, of Orchard appeared before the Honorable Donna Taylor in the Antelope County Court last Wednesday, May 19, facing a

theft by shoplifting charge. Anson entered a not guilty plea to the Class 2 misdemeanor and requested a jury trial. Pretrial hearing is set June 16. Bond in the amount of $5,000, 10% cash, posted May 13 is continued. A warrant, ordered by Taylor on May 6, was served May 10. The arrest came after an investigation into the April 24 theft of DeWalt tools from the Neligh Bomgaars store. Anson allegedly left the store with three or more tools as an employee yelled at him to return and pay for them, then proceeded to leave the parking lot at a high rate of speed, failing to stop before entering onto Highway 275, eastbound, according to a motion requesting the warrant, filed by Antelope County sheriff Robert Moore on May 5. Anson is represented by Antelope County public defender Melissa Figueroa.


Martin R. Siems, 47, of Clearwater pleaded not guilty to two Class W misdemeanor counts, driving under the influence of alcohol and refusal to

submit to a chemical test, both alleged March 20. He requested jury trial. Pretrial hearing is set June 16. Bond, in the amount of $1,500, 10%, is continued. Siems is represented by Ronald Temple of Norfolk.

Timothy A. Robbins, 43, of Elgin entered a not guilty plea and requested jury trial on a charge of third-degree domestic assault, a Class I misdemeanor alleged March 26 in Elgin. Pretrial hearing is set June 16. Bond in the amount of $5,000, 10%, posted April 1, is continued. Robbins is represented by Figueroa.

Johnathon N. Crocker, 27, of Neligh appeared for arraignment on a count of driving under suspension, a Class 3 misdemeanor alleged March 24. Taylor granted Crocker’s request for continuance in order to consult an attorney. Arraignment is continued to June 2. Bond posted March 24, in the amount of $1,500, 10%, is continued as well.

Donneceia McFarland, 34, of Oakdale faced Taylor for further arraignment on a second-degree count of forgery, $500-$1,500, alleged Dec. 14, 2020. McFarland pleaded not guilty and requested jury trial. Pretrial hearing is set June 16. McFarland is represented by Figueroa.

Further arraignment is continued to June 2 for Sada L. Carr, 34, also of Oakdale, who faces two counts of second-degree forgery, $500-$1,500, alleged Dec. 14-15, 2020, and Jan. 2. Carr is represented by court-appointed defender Martin Klein of Neligh.

Taylor signed a warrant for the arrest of a Neligh man. Jorge J Zuniga, 25, who failed to appear to show cause for nonpayment of fines and costs incurred on three counts. Zuniga had requested additional time to pay $499 in fines and costs for three counts committed Dec. 31 in Neligh, possession of marijuana, one ounce or less, littering and possession of drug paraphernalia. Taylor ordered, upon his arrest, Zuniga may pay the judgment in full, choose to sit out the judgment in the county jail, at the rate of $150 per day, or be held and taken before the court. Bond was set at $3,000, 10%, with the defendant to appear in the Antelope County Court the Wednesday following his arrest, unless the judgment is satisfied by days held prior to appearance.
