Niobrara Valley Conference wrestling duals took place Thursday, Jan. 21 at Elkhorn Valley. The Summerland Bobcats placed fourth out of the eight teams participating.

Summerland's first dual was against the West Holt Huskies. Starting with the 170-pound weight class, Kendrick Schroeder received a forfeit. Tyler Bellar, Colton Thiele, Wyatt Chipps, and Logan Mueller all earned forfeits, respectively, for the 182, 195, 220 and 285-pound weight divisions.

The 106-pound class was a double forfeit. Daley Bearinger and Jesse Thiele also received forfeits for the 113 and 120-pound weight classes, respectively.

Alex Thiele took the first match of the dual, against Asher McCart, in the 126-pound weight division. Thiele pinned McCart, in 1:23.

Rafe Grebin received a forfeit for the 132-pound weight class.

In the 138-pound weight division, Channing Ogden pinned Eli Thiele, in 5:23. Caleb Davis won by fall, in 3:19, over Spencer Kester in the 145-pound weight class.

Isaac Pistulka, received a forfeit over Summerland for the 152-pound weight division. Alex Arroyo earned a forfeit in the 160-pound weight division.

The Bobcats defeated the Huskies, 60-18.

The Bobcat's second dual of the night was against Elkhorn Valley. Bellar started the dual winning by forfeit.

Gavyn Clause won against Colton Thiele, with an 11-7 decision.

The 220-pound weight class was a double forfeit.

Chipps fell to Caden Reikofski, in 3:57, for the 285-pound weight class. At the 106-pound weight division, Waylon Warneke received a forfeit over Summerland. Nathan Halsey, earned a technical fall over Bearinger, 19-3.

In the 120-pound weight division, Hunter Bennett pinned Jesse Thiele, in 2:45. Zack Hartl, won by fall, in 5:06, against Alex Thiele in the 126 class. At 132, Adam Miller pinned Grebin, in 1:30. Maverick Hagemann won by fall, in 3:58, against Eli Thiele.

Kester fell, in 4:00, to Malachi Tegeler, at 145. At 152-pounds, Reed Bennett received a forfeit. Arroyo and Schroeder both earned forfeits at the 160-pound and 170-pound classes, respectively.

EV Falcons defeated Summerland, 56-18.

The Bobcats took on the Neligh-Oakdale Warriors in the third dual. Colton Thiele started off the dual with a pin, in 5:39, against Dawson Kaup. Chipps received a forfeit over the Warriors in the 220-division. At 285-pounds, Mueller suddenly won by fall, in :26, against Nathan Juarez.

At 106-pounds, both teams forfeited. Carson Whitesel pinned Bearinger, in :46. Cody Booth won against Jesse Thiele, by fall, in 1:11. Alex Thiele pinned Griffin Claussen, in 1:22, in the 126-division. At 132-pounds, Brock Kester won by fall, over Grebin, in 2:54. Eli Thiele pinned Thomas Johnson, in 1:10. Ashton Higgins, pinned Kester, in 2:50.

Austin Rudolf received a forfeit for the Warriors at 152-pounds. Arroyo fell to Aiden Kuester, in 3:16, in the 160-pound match. Conor Dempsey, earned a 16-0 tech fall against Schroeder. At 182-pounds, Caleb Payne won by decision, 9-5, over Tyler Bellar. The Bobcat's team score was reduced two points for unsportsmanlike conduct. The Warriors won the dual over Summerland, 44-28.

Summerland's final dual was against the North Central Knights.

Chipps and Mueller both received forfeits. At 106-pounds, Tristen Krueger received a forfeit for the Knights. Bearinger received a forfeit for the Bobcats in the 113-division.

Jesse Thiele started with a match against Gavin Prewitt. Thiele fell, in 1:25. At 126-pounds, Zach Dickau, won by fall, in :52, over Alex Thiele. Grebin fell against Thomas Klemesrud, in 1:13.

Eli Thiele and Kester both received forfeits.

At 152-pounds, Payton Ebert received a forfeit for the Knights.

Alex Arroyo fell to Levi Lewis, in 3:06, in the 160-pound match. At 170-pounds, Elijah Clay, pinned Schroeder, in 3:08.

Beau Kauffman received a forfeit for North Central at 182s and Colton Thiele received a forfeit, at195, for the Bobcats.

North Central defeated Summerland 48-36.
