Bobcat JV wrestlers finish sixth

The Bobcat junior varsity wrestling team tied for sixth, Monday, at the Wisner-Pilger Invite, accumulating 63 points in a field of a dozen teams.

Schuyler claimed the top position, scoring 207.5 points. Logan View finished second, with 140, followed by Wayne, 107; Battle Creek, 103; Clarkson-Leigh, 69.5.

Pierce tied with the Cats in the sixth-place spot.

Jesse Thiele finished first in the 120-pound class, finishing 5-0, with four wins by decision and one win by fall.

Alex Thiele placed second in the 126-pound division. Thiele ended 4-1, with four wins by fall.

His lone loss was to Plainview's Jordan Mosel, who won, by fall, in 2:59.

Daley Bearinger picked up three wins and placed fourth in the 106-pound class.


Bearinger lost two matches, by fall.

In the 195-pound division, Christian Behnk placed fifth. He ended with a 0-4 record for the evening.

In the girls' division, Ammy Arroyo went 3-1, placing second. Her lone loss was to Haylee Miller, of Wisner-Pilger, who won by fall, in 2:30.

Calissa Kester finished 1-3 and placed fourth. Kester defeated teammate Julie Olivan, by fall, in :24.

Olivan ended 0-4 on the evening and placed fifth.

Team members will compete in the Elkhorn Valley triangular, Thursday, Jan. 7, in Tilden.

Bobcat wrestlers return to Wisner-Pilger, Saturday, for the Gator Invite.
