September 17, 2020
CWC struck on the first play from scrimmage against Summerland, Friday, in Chambers. But the Bobcats stood their ground and clawed their way to a 26-13 win, the first in Summerland history.
Cole Duba tossed a 50-yard pass to Jackson Waldo, giving the Renegades a 6-0 advantage.
The Bobcats responded with a one-yard run by quarterback Ty Rix, and before the end of the first quarter, Trevor Thomson powered his way downfield, scoring on a 43-yard run.
Both PATs were unsuccessful.
In the second quarter, Rix scored the lone touchdown, with a one-yard jog across the end line.
Waldo capitalized in the third quarter, scooting 16 yards for a score. His PAT kick sailed through the uprights, narrowing the Bobcats’ lead to 18-13.
A strong defensive stand in the fourth quarter ended a Renegade drive and turned the ball over to the Bobcats.
Thomson found the end zone for a second time, scoring on a 50-yard run late in the final minutes of play. Rix’s pass to Dalton Rotherham finalized the 26-13 win.
