Holt County defendants fined

 


Trinity J. Mosel, 19, of O’Neill faced the Honorable Kale Burdick last Tuesday, June 23, in the Holt County courtroom, charged with two infractions, committed May 15, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana, one ounce or less, first offense. She plead guilty to both counts and was fined $100 and $300, respectively, and was assessed $49 costs.

Gail L. Crosser, 40, of Hastings was sentenced for a count of careless driving committed in December 2019.

Crosser pleaded guilty to the Count II infraction Feb. 4, but not guilty to Count I, no proof of financial responsibility alleged the same day. Sentencing on Count II and pretrial hearing on Count I were set. After multiple continuances were granted, due to residence in a treatment center and lack of transportation, Holt County Attorney Brent Kelly agreed on June 9, to drop Count I, and sentence was ordered by Burdick on June 11 without a court appearance. Crosser was fined $100 on Count II and assessed $49 costs.


Heinrich G. Horger, 45, of O’Neill pleaded guilty, by waiver, to two infraction counts, possession open alcohol container and speeding. Horger was fined $175 and taxed $49 costs for the offenses committed May 30 in O’Neill.

Joseph R. Hoffman, 38, of Volin, South Dakota, entered guilty pleas by waiver, to three counts, Count I, drive commercial motor vehicle without obtaining CDL; Count II, CMV marking violation; and Count III, CMV brake violation, all Class 3 misdemeanors committed June 15 east of Atkinson on Highway 20. He was fined $100, $50 and $50, respectively, and taxed $49 costs.

Octavia D. Dearmont, 23, of Atkinson, pleaded guilty to a count of possessing drug paraphernalia, an infraction committed May 21 in O’Neill. She was fined $100 and assessed $49
