Colleges, universities announce scholastic honors

Area students have received scholastic honors for the fall 2019 semester.

Wayne State College

Wayne State College included more than 1,000 students on the dean’s list for exemplary academic achievement during the past semester.

Students listed are full-time undergraduate students who have achieved a 3.5 grade-point average or above on a 4.0 scale. An asterisk denotes a 4.0 GPA for the term.

Area students on the list include Travis Rudloff * and Taylor Sanne, Clearwater;

Skylar Reynolds, Jaidyn Schindler, Brad Thoendel, Alex Thramer and Derek Tomjack, Ewing;


Erin Schwager, Orchard;

Robin Isom, Page; and

Levi Stacken, Royal.

Northeast Community College

Northeast Community College in Norfolk has released the president’s honor list and deans’ honor list for both full- and part-time students for the fall 2019 semester.

Students named to the president’s honor list for full-time students earned a 4.0 grade-point for at least 12 hours. Logan McConnell and Andrew Steskal of Clearwater were named to the list.

Deans’ honor list for full-time students includes students who attained a grade-point average of 3.75 for the semester while being enrolled for at least 12 credit hours. Louis Herley of Clearwater received the honor.

Part-time students who attained a 4.0 grade-point average while enrolled in at least six credit hours are eligible for the president’s honor list for part-time students. Ewing-area residents included on the list are Ryann Haburchak, Kathryn Hawk and Michelle Koenig.

Gage Clifton and Heather Jackson, Orchard; Mackenzie Doty, Page and Clay Curtis, Royal, were named to this list.

Deans’ honor list for part-time students features students who attained a grade-point average of 3.75 for the semester while being enrolled for at least 6 credit hours.

Lauren Behnk, Taylor Bolling and Tyler Hupp, Clearwater, received were named to the list.

Dakota Wesleyan University

Dakota Wesleyan University has released the dean’s list for the fall 2019 semester.

Mallory Cooper, of Ewing, received the academic honor.

To qualify for the dean’s list a student must have a semester grade point average of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale. They must also complete at least 12 hours of academic work during the semester.
