Antelope, Holt zoning directors report annual permit activity

Antelope County zoning administrator Liz Doerr issued 168 permits in 2020, according a summary she presented to county commissioners Jan. 7.

Permits issued generated more than $44,000 in revenue for the county, including $250 in late fees.

The value of non-wind turbine permitted projects was projected at just shy of $4 million. By township, building permits issued include: Blaine, one permit, with estimated value of $150; Burnett, two permits, $305,000; Cedar, four, $100,200; Clearwater, three, $32,700; Crawford, two, $400,000; Custer, three, $385,516; Eden, one, $3,500; Elgin, one, $40,000; Elm, seven, $874,500 (includes one for TransCanada Keystone Pipeline, with a projected value of $575,000);


Frenchtown, three, $245,000; Garfield, 10, $953,000; Grant, one, $10,000; Lincoln, three, $140,000; Logan, three, $58,000; Neligh, one, $65,000; Oakdale, two, $95,000; Royal, two, $370,000 (includes one for TransCanada, projected value of $250,000); Sherman, nine, $241,500; Verdigris, two, $142,000 (includes one for TransCanada, with no value listed); and Willow, one, $53,000.

Seventy-nine building permits issued in October for the Thunderhead Wind Energy LLC have an estimated value of $158 million ($2 million apiece). Sites are in Clearwater, Elgin, Lincoln, Ord and Stanton townships. In addition, one was issued to Upstream Wind Energy LLC, with an estimated value of $2 million.

One conditional use permit was issued in each Crawford, Eden, Frenchtown (Summerland school) and Logan (Elkhorn Solar LLC) townships; and a Class 1 livestock permit was issued in each Bazile, Crawford and Eden townships.

In addition, nine administrative plat applications were processed by Doerr, along with one variance.

One hundred twenty permits were issued in 2018, with a combined value of about $18.5 million.

According to Holt County zoning director Mike Durre, two CUPs were issued there in 2019. He said the county does not issue building permits.
