Renegades lasso Cyclones in regular season finale

Eli Macke found the endzone first, on a 20-yard run, giving the Cyclones their only lead of the evening, in a 57-14 loss to CWCE, Oct. 24.

After Macke's score, the Renegades offense took control, scoring eight touchdowns.

Jackson Waldo ran it in from 15 yards out and Fran Ferran added the PAT to give the Renegades a 7-6 edge.

Wyatt Wagner scored on a five-yard scamper and Ferran's kick was successful.

Cole Duba scored the final drive in the fist quarter on a two-yard run. With Ferran's kick, CWCE led 21-6 at the end of the first.


Josh Klabenes recovered a Cyclone fumble and ran 20 yards for a touchdown.

Wagner ended first-half scoring with a 6-yard streak.

Ferran added the PAT on both touchdowns, boosting the Renegade's margin to 35-6 at the break.

In the third quarter, Wagner skipped in from the three yards and later, Waldo crossed the goal line after a 6-yard run.

Ferran added PATs with both touchdowns, boosting the host team's lead to 49-6.

CWCE's final score came when Bryson Abbott sailed a 36-yard pass to Ferran, who found the endzone. Abbott ran in the two-point conversion.

As the clock dwindled, Jaykwon Petite capped the evening with a 12-yard touchdown run for the Cyclones.


Alex Arroyo carried the ball in for the PAT.

The Renegades advance to the NSAA State Football Championship playoffs.

They travel to Overton, Oct. 31, for a 5 p.m. kickoff.

The Cyclones end the season 1-7.
