Despite rain, Cyclones whirl past Stuart
October 10, 2019
Neither rain nor strong winds could keep the Cyclones contained during Friday's 52-2 rout of the Stuart Broncos.
Eli Macke sprinted into the endzone in the first quarter for the lone Cyclones score. With the missed PAT, the Cyclones took a 6-0 lead.
The second quarter belonged to the Cyclones. Houston Marino waltzed in from the 3-yard line and Macke added the PAT to boost the lead to 14-0.
Two more big Macke attacks resulted in a 6-yard and 20-yard touchdown. Both PAT attempts failed, putting OC up 26-0 at the midway mark.
Macke backed a punt in the third quarter, resulting in a safety.
Trevor Thomson returned a kickoff 43 yards and Macke added the PAT to boost OC up 36-0. Marino powered down field on a 48-yard touchdown run and Thompson added the PAT.
Stuart got on the board in the fourth quarter, with a safety.
Thomson added the period to the exclamation point, running 21 yards and adding the PAT for the 52-2 finale.
Macke ended with 161 yards on 24 carries, averaging 6.7 yards per carry. Colton Thiele and Logan Mueller ended with 5 solo tackles apiece.
