Renegades wrangle Vikings

Wagner lands in end zone six times

September 12, 2019

A week after lightening forced the Renegades' season opener to be rescheduled, the lightning speed of Renegade running back Wyatt Wagner sunk the Vikings, 62-32, in a Sept. 6 contest at Wausa.

Wagner rushed for 250 yards and scored six touchdowns in the Renegades' win.

Both teams landed in the end zone twice in the first quarter, battling to a 12-12 tie.

But the Renegades found an offensive rhythm, doubling second quarter scoring, to take a 40-26 lead into halftime.

The Vikings' woes continued in the third quarter, as CWCE scored 22 points. Wausa scored the only points in the fourth quarter.

The Renegades finished with 421 all-purpose yards, two catches for 27 yards by Dalton Rotherham.

Defensively, Rex Day led the team with 16 tackles. Wagner finished with 9.

The Renegades travel to Elgin Public/Pope John, Sept. 13. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m.
