Elizabeth Odell, of Clearwater, joins the Summerland Advocate Messenger staff as advertising sales manager.

Publisher LuAnn Schindler said Odell will work with area businesses to fine-tune advertising and branding messages worth sharing with customers.

"Elizabeth has an eye for detail and cares about our communities. That will be a strong asset as she works with businesses to meet their advertising needs," Schindler said.

Since the newspaper's inception, staff members have shared some snippets from their daily lives via the "Get to Know" section.

Odell's interests include:

Favorite thing to write or design is ... goat milk soap inspired by the scent of a fragrance, essential oil and crocheted items.

Favorite hobby ... which one isn't my favorite, I'm a hobby hoarder.

You might be surprised to know ... that I have a spontaneous streak.

Favorite meal ... any meal that brings back memories of loved ones, my mom's manicotti or my dad's home-canned sauerkraut with pork roast and potato dumplings and Uncle Rudy's apple pie.

The Summerland Advocate Messenger is ... a link that connects our communities, each issue brings us together by reporting the news and sharing our stories.
