Holt County Fair recognizes volunteers

August 15, 2019

The Holt County Fair Board recognized two individuals during the 2019 fair, for contributions benefiting the fair and 4H and FFA programs.

Scott Moore was named a friend of the fair. He spent more than 20 years as superintendent of shooting sports events.

Moore built targets, mowed the ranges and set up for practices and events.

According to board members, “Scott was patient with the training practices, sharing his knowledge of the sport, while emphasizing the importance of good habits of gun safety.”

Pete Hoffman, who served as a board member for 40 years, was the second recipient. He served as treasurer and president.

After retiring from the board, Hoffman assisted with fair preparations and worked during the rodeo.
